and we’re back… sort of. :)

You may have noticed that my blog has been down for a couple of weeks now. (at least, I hope that someone besides my wife noticed!) Yes, my contract with Webhost4life was up, and rather than re-live some of my OutOfMemoryException errors that I was having with them I decided that it was time to search out a new host. In addition to that, I had been frustrated with some of the limitations of the DotNetNuke blogging module. It has served me well, but with the lack of support for common things like tagging, tag clouds and an implementation of the Meta Blog API I decided that it was time to look elsewhere.

So, I’m trying out WordPress. Although I’m not completely certain that this is where I’ll end up. It made sense to go here first as a blogging platform… they have a great import/export feature (and just about everyone and their mother supports an import or conversion form the WordPress format) so if I ever decide that I’d like to move to another blogging platform, I’m hoping that it will be pretty painless.

BTW… I’m also trying out Windows Live Writer (something that I could never use with DNN Blog’s lack of MetaBlog API Support) and so far I have to agree with what others have said. I like it!

So for now, I’m actually on WordPress.com, but I’m looking at better hosted (and more flexible) WordPress solutions. Site5.com looks like an interesting option. In the mean time, subscribe to my RSS so that no matter where I go, you should be able to find me. :)

(picture inserted just to try out Live Writer feature… ok, nothing more to see here, move along – but you do have to admit it… she’s cute! )
