Loving my new phone.

About a month ago I wrote about the goodness that was my work horse of a HTC Wizard phone... It was great, it was grand... right up to the point where it died. To be fair, one of the things that I liked about my old phone was that it was unlocked and I used that fact to load up about every internal build from the Microsoft Mobility Group... Beta 2, Beta 3, RC... (there is some really cool stuff coming to Windows Mobile!) and I think that all of that flashing and re-flashing finally had its affect on my poor phone. Can you imagine trying to work while on the road without current and direct access to your email, calendar and contacts?! Me either. So this week when I landed in Houston, I went straight to the first T-Mobile store and picked up my new phone. The Dash. It's nice, I sometimes miss my stylus, and the ability to cut and paste from within an email or document, I really miss Voice Command 1.6 (coming soon to a mobile phone near you!), and I also really miss some of the Beta features that I was getting really used to having... but I do like the compact size and overall goodness of the Dash; I especially like the quality of the pictures that it takes.

oh yeah..:I also miss spell check. My old phone had spell check and I used it on everything.email, im, sms, everything. My new phone is basically the Windows Mobile 5 Smart Phone with a keyboard,my old phone was Windows Mobile 5 pocket PC… I guess pocket PC doesn’t include spell check. oh well.

Ugh… I can’t edit or create new Tasks with this phone either! Oh well, it still takes nice pictures… ;)

I’ve been told that Windows Mobile 6 fixes A LOT of the short comings of Smart Phone Mobile 5… I can;t wait to see it!
