I just blogged about October being SilverFest month for DFW; here are a few more details on the talk that I’ll be giving next Monday – October 11th – at the very first North Texas Silverlight User Group

Silverlight for (mobile) World Domination

I’m looking forward to this talk and am honored to be the inaugural presenter! I’ll be talking about developing a real world application for Windows Phone 7 with Silverlight. Besides being a fun play on words… Silverlight 4 World Domination.

.. but for mobile. See what I did there? Silverlight 4… Silverlight for? OK, I digress… This is going to be a fun night, we’ll take a look at a what it’s like developing in the real world for Windows Phone 7 with Silverlight. Even if you’re not planning on doing any mobile development, we’ll also dig in to practices and skills to that apply to all Silverlight development (not just mobile).

We’ll take a look at Microsoft’s recently released user controls and toolkits. Microsoft has opened up an exciting world of opportunity to .NET developers – this talk will help jumpstart your Silverlight skills for that world! Be sure to RSVP and also to follow @ntsilverlight on twitter.
