Tulsa Developers .NET Tonight!

Nov
19

I’ll be at the Tulsa .NET Users Group tonight! Speaking on .NET 3.5… coincidence that Visual Studio 2008 RTM‘d the same day? Most likely. :)

If you join us… don’t expect me to be on the RTM version of Visual Studio yet. I’m using Visual Studio 2008 (beta 2) + Expression Blend 2 (sept. preview) + Expression Design SP1 + Silverlight 1.1 (alpha) + Silverlight 1.1 SDK (alpha) + Silverlight 1.1 Alpha Tools for Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2

It’s that last one that keeps me from updating Visual Studio before tonight. I’ll have to test / or wait for the Silverlight Alpha tools (since this will be an add-on for Visual Studio) to upgrade to the Visual Studio 2008 RTM.

I learned a long time ago to not change my demo machine the day of a presentation… but that doesn’t mean that it’s still very tempting to see if it would all work!

See you then!

ASP.NET AJAX and Silverlight at Louisiana .NET User Groups

Nov
6

Tonight, Tues - Nov 6, 2007, I’ll be presenting at the Greater New Orleans .NET User Group on ASP.NET AJAX with Visual Studio 2008.

Tomorrow night I’ll be at the Baton Rouge .NET User Group talking about Microsoft Silverlight with Expression Suite and Visual Studio 2008.

This is my first trip to go speak on INETA’s behalf as a part of the INETA Speaker’s Bureau. I’ve been a fan of INETA (the International .NET Association) and their work ever since I ran the user group in Tulsa, and while I worked at Microsoft. Now, I’m excited be a part of this amazing group supporting the .NET communities in the US and Canada!

I’m excited and looking forward to meeting all of the people out there! If you’re in the New Orleans or Baton Rouge areas stop on by! Check back here, I’ll post my slides from the talks later this week.

wow! It’s been a while since I’ve actually blogged something! I blame twitter (and my crazy busy schedule!). Seriously though, if you really want to follow what I’m up to… you should follow my twitter feed. It even has RSS. :)

Get ready for a couple of follow up posts. I need to talk about joining the INETA Speaker’s Bureau, the Webmaster Jam Session, Tulsa Tech Fest, xTrain, Improving, CommunityCast.tv, Traveling by plane, and my upcoming visit to Louisiana next week!

Yikes! that’s a lot to cover! Hopefully, I can find some time to get that all out today!
